Columns from Tabletalk Magazine, February 2017
The February issue of Tabletalk provides an overview of the biblical teaching on joy. The call to rejoice and be joyful is found throughout Scripture, and joy is listed in Galatians 5:22 as part of the fruit of the Spirit. As such, Christians know that they have a duty to pursue joy. Yet believers are often confused about the nature of joy. How is joy related to happiness? Is it really possible to have joy in the midst of great pain and sorrow? Does true joy mean smiling and acting as if nothing is wrong even when life is particularly difficult? Where do I find joy, and what is the source of lasting joy in the Christian life? This issue will help readers understand the Bible's teaching on joy so that they may fulfill God's call to rejoice in Him always (Phil. 4:4).
