Dear friend,
Unfortunately, the term evangelical is in our day often associated more with a political movement or a message of self-esteem and self-improvement than with the gospel of Jesus Christ. But the term evangelical has no meaning without the evangel — the good news — and countless churches are preaching a message that has little if anything to do with the biblical gospel.
On March 26–27, 2010, Ligonier Ministries will host our West Coast Conference in Los Angeles, Calif., in order to help the church address this pressing problem. Drs. Michael Horton, John MacArthur, Peter Jones, and I will come together to examine many of the popular misunderstandings of the gospel in our day and seek to equip evangelicals to stand firm with the good news delivered once for all to the saints.
The gospel must be treasured and proclaimed faithfully to all generations. Please consider joining us this spring for a time of fellowship, prayer, worship, and study as we look at the essential elements of the Christian faith.
