About the Kiev Symphony Orchestra The Kiev Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1993 by American conductor Roger McMurrin. This group was formed for the specific purpose of performing of Western Classical masterpieces, which were forbidden during the Soviet era. The Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is the largest private musical ensemble of its kind in Ukraine.
