Dr. Sproul explains that there is enough material to write a book packed into Jesus' statement that "If you abide in My word, you are my Disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." After investigating this statement, Dr. Sproul considers the complaint from the Jews that they have never been in bondage to anyone and the response Jesus makes to them including the statement they "are of your father the devil."
